Every year, Zion United Church of Christ participates in the Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival. In 2012, to celebrate our 145th anniversary, we had t-shirts with a brand new logo printed. We have a limited quantity of these left over, and we're making them available to the public.
These t-shirts are 100% pre-shrunk cotton. We have only a few left in 2XL. If you are interested in purchasing one, they are $15.00 apiece (with $5.00 shipping). Just click the email link above and we will tell you how you can get one. Thanks!
So… the church pantry was cleaned out, and we found some treasures that had been hidden away.
In 1997, the church published a cook book, filled with recipes from church members, past and present. The booklet contains 75 pages of recipes, broken up into the following categories: appetizers & beverages, soups & salads, vegetables, main dishes, breads & rolls, desserts, and miscellaneous. Many pages have more than one recipe on them, so you’re looking at probably close to 200 recipes, as well some extra pages containing nutritional information and food preparation safety.
Some of the wonderful recipes include: Dill Dip Delight, Sauerkraut Balls, Pretzel Salad, Reuben Salad, Corn Chowder, Pumpkin & Apple Soup, Sausage Sauerkraut Soup, Christmas Eggs, Elephant Stew, Minnesota Casserole, No Name Supper, No Peek Stew, Potato Kugel, Souper Tuna Crunch, Beer Bread, Delicious Rhubarb Bread, Easter Bread, Amish Cookies, Apple Pizza, Blitz Kuchen, Circus Cake, Gelatin Cake, Fruit Fritters, Ice Cream Jello, Mark’s Marvelous Macaroons, Pretzel Twist Icing, Pineapple Cookies, Sour Milk Cupcakes, Strawberry Cake, Yellow Better-Than-Sex Cake, Overnight French Toast, Beet Onion Relish, Dill Pickles (more than one recipe), Famous Greek Sauce, Knox Blox, Pumpkin Butter, and Strawberry Rhubarb Jam.
As you can see, that’s quite a diverse selection of recipes, and there’s a LOT of recipes in this book, so if you like cooking or baking, I’m sure you’ll find at least two or three recipes that will make this book a valued addition to your cook book collection.
The books are $10 each, plus $5 shipping (priority mail). If you’re interested, please contact us and we will arrange your purchase. All proceeds go to Zion United Church of Christ in Tremont.
